Bowlero Opens in Buffalo Grove Bringing New Spin to Traditional Bowling

The former Brunswick Zone has been redone to include bowling, a high-end sports bar and dining area, arcade and laser tag.

Brunswick Zone in Buffalo Grove will reopen as Bowlero on Tuesday, bringing a new spin to the traditional bowling experience.

There will still be bowling on 32 lanes but the redone business at 350 McHenry Road in Buffalo Grove will also now include a high-end sports bar and dining area, interactive arcade and a state of the art laser tag arena.

Bowlmor AMF acquired Brunswick’s bowling center business in 2014, according to the Daily Herald. Justin Hake, regional vice president of operations for Bowlmor AMF, told the newspaper Bowlero has an "experience-based concept of bowling" and emphasizes a "hipster, retro, vintage kind of vibe."

"The issue that we were facing was the Brunswick's name was really only on three centers nationally," he said. "It just made sense to put them underneath the Bowlero brand, where they fit in a little bit better."

The business is open from 4 p.m. to 12 a.m. Saturday through Monday, 4 to 11 p.m. on Tuesday through Thursday and 1 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Friday.
