The lanes have changed.
Bowlero Corp., the bowling center chain, has transformed Bowlmor in Pasadena into its 16th California Bowlero. The venue has been revamped with retro-inspiring stylings, modernized lanes, an interactive arcade, sports bar and new food and cocktail menus. Bowlero Corp. was created in 2013 after the merger of Bowlmor Lanes and AMF Bowling Worldwide and acquired Brunswick Zone in 2014.
Bowlero in Pasadena will celebrate its grand opening 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Feb. 9 with free bowling, shoe rental and arcade play, plus food specials, $3 Lagunitas IPA beer and more. RSVP is recommended at www.bowlero.com/pasadena-grand-opening.
The venue has 31 lanes and a seven-lane private bowling lounge. The end of each lane has floor-to-ceiling video screens which play live sports, music videos, classic family films and more.
The arcade is a mix of state-of-the-art and classic games, including World’s Largest Pac-Man, Mario Kart GP DX, The Giant Crane, billiards, beer pong and foosball.
Bowlero’s menu features foods like the Behemoth Burger, a six-pound burger topped with bacon, American cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, pickles and special sauce, and the Coney Mega Dog, a two-foot-long hot dog topped with chili, queso, diced onions and mustard. There are also buffalo wings, mozzarella sticks and nachos.
Adults may enjoy craft beer, wine and cocktails, including extra large selections meant to share, such as the Dunk Tank, a 123-ounce concoction of Bacardi Black, Bacardi Coconut, Bacardi Silver, BOLS Amaretto, and assorted juices, and the Mega Mule, a 101-ounce blend of Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Q Ginger Beer, and single pressed lime juice served in a copper mug.
