BOWLING’S NEW SHOE IS REVEALED

Inspired. Creative. #Bowled. We invited designers from across the country and around the world to share their vision of bowling’s classic shoe—a sports accessory that’s been unchanged for nearly a century. Until now.

Check out the finalists from our #BeBowled Shoe Design Challenge and see the winning design—chosen by fashion designer Christian Siriano and a panel of expert judges—now on the lanes at our locations nationwide.

Congrats to Sam Riley, designer of the “Illusion Shoe” and winner of our competition! Learn more about his design and those of our other talented finalists below.

Designer: Sam Riley

Location: New York, NY

Title: Illusion Shoe

Place to Bowl: Bowlmor Lanes Times Square

Bowling High Score: 70

Inspiration: Sam embraced Bowlero’s retro-modern style to create a shoe that appeals to all ages, evoking both a sense of nostalgia and an air of modern cool. The designs of both the left and right shoe are unique yet complementary, revealing a larger, more involved design when placed together.

Designer: Kelly Duggan

Location: New Berlin, WI

Title: Modern Geo

Place to Bowl: Bowlero Wauwatosa

Bowling High Score: 150

Inspiration: Bowlero’s modern twist on traditional bowling led Kelly to explore a more neutral design that avoids bright colors and incorporates an eye-catching, geometric pattern. The result is a style that’s striking and memorable, but in no way overwhelming.

Designer: Lisa Ng

Location: Seattle, WA

Title: Street Style

Place to Bowl: Bowlero Lynnwood

Bowling High Score: 100

Inspiration: Lisa drew her inspiration from the Sharpie marker—and the practice of decorating one’s shoes with original drawings. Utilizing Bowlero’s vibrant color palette, Lisa added hand-drawn illustrations to her design to create a whimsical, totally retro style that’s made to stand out.

Designer: Meghan LeBlanc

Location: Northbridge, MA

Title: Neon Lights 2

Place to Bowl: AMF Auburn Lanes

Bowling High Score: 171

Inspiration: Bold splashes of neon and a funky, cool camouflage pattern bring Meghan’s design to life. Her shoe is a striking combination of black, blue, and yellow that demands your attention and was inspired by Meghan’s love of Pop Art and country music.

Designer: Tim Ganter

Location: Freehold, NJ

Title: The Fade

Place to Bowl: AMF Strathmore Lanes

Bowling High Score: 200

Inspiration: Tim’s design reflects the inclusive nature of bowling—a sport that everyone can play. With that in mind, he challenged himself to incorporate ALL of the colors from Bowlero’s palette into his design and accomplished this by using a fade pattern across the entire shoe. The result is a multi-colored design that transitions from blue and purple to pink, orange, and yellow.
