Bowlero Corp, Avantia & Astound Win 2019 Acquia Engage Award
Award Program Showcases Outstanding Examples of Digital Experience Delivery
NEW YORK, NY – November 5, 2019 – Bowlero Corp announced today it was selected along with Avantia, Inc. and Astound Commerce as the winner of the 2019 Acquia Engage Awards for Closing the CX Gap. The Acquia Engage Awards recognize the world-class digital experiences that organizations are building with the Acquia Open Digital Experience Platform.
Over the past year, Bowlero Corp re-platformed and relaunched all four of their brand web sites (AMF.com, Bowlmor.com, Bowlero.com, BowlBrunswick.com) in addition to their corporate site (BowleroCorp.com) to reflect the industry-leading experience they execute at the center level. The sites were designed on a global custom CMS system that not only created significant efficiencies internally – dropping the timeline to push changes from weeks to minutes – but also resulted in a 79% increase in the ecommerce conversion rate year over year.
“We really wanted to use this ‘from scratch’ opportunity to elevate Bowlero Corp’s digital experience for both customers and internal teams and to be recognized for it is just the icing on the cake,” said Megan Wintersteen, Vice President of Marketing at Bowlero. “I believe that great work is a product of great partnerships and our friends at Avantia and Astound were vital in transforming our vision into reality.”
Travis Warholic, Delivery Manager at Avantia, echoed these sentiments and praised the collective action of the partnership that led to Bowlero Corp’s new and improved web experience.
“We are honored to have had the opportunity to work with Bowlero Corp and Astound Commerce in bringing this best-in-class site to life on the industry-leading Acquia platform,” said Warholic. “To see that hard work recognized with a 2019 Acquia Engage Award is a testament to the dedication of all involved with this project to ensure its success.”
More than 100 submissions were received from Acquia customers and partners, from which 16 were selected as winners. Nominations that demonstrated an advanced level functionality, integration, performance (results and key performance indicators), and overall user experience advanced to the finalist round, where an outside panel of experts selected the winning projects. Jurors included Keith Cline of VentureFizz, Erika Jones of CMSC Media, and Scott Liewehr of Digital Clarity Group. See the winning projects and read what led to their success at the Acquia Engage Awards gallery.
“This year’s awards were particularly competitive, with every category featuring a strong field of finalists and inspiring healthy debate among the judges,” Liewehr said. “The tremendous work and achievement behind these projects raise the bar for digital experience delivery, and they exemplify what’s possible when open platforms, strong strategy, and technical talent converge to deliver fantastic omnichannel experiences. We congratulate all the winners and finalists on their achievements.”
“Acquia partners and customers are leading the charge for transformational change in customer experiences,” said Joe Wykes, senior vice president, sales and global channels at Acquia. “The winning projects represent a tremendously diverse array of organizations, all of whom are deploying open platforms and technologies to deliver powerful experiences at every channel and touchpoint. We’re proud to honor the winners of the Acquia Engage Awards for driving change and innovation in digital experience delivery.”
